WYLAC / CUSTOM

Software shaped aroundthe problem you actually have.

WYLAC is problem-first, not a generic software shop. When no product fits the shape of your work, we build the system that does — and we stay accountable for it after go-live.

DISCOVERY — DESIGN — PROTOTYPE — BUILD — TEST — DEPLOY — SUPPORT

THE LIFECYCLE / 07 PHASES

Every phase has an output you can judge.

01 / DISCOVERY

We study the problem, not the purchase order.

Structured interviews and observation of the real workflow — who touches the process, where it breaks, what the exceptions look like. The output is a problem definition we both sign off on.

02 / SOLUTION DESIGN

The system is drawn before it is built.

Data flows, decision points, human checkpoints and failure states, mapped on one page. You review the architecture before a line of production code exists.

03 / PROTOTYPE

A working system against your real cases, in weeks.

Not a mockup — a functioning prototype run against your actual documents, quotes or workflows. You judge it on evidence before committing to a build.

04 / BUILD

Production engineering, not prototype polish.

The prototype's proven core becomes a hardened system: access control, audit trails, monitoring and the unglamorous reliability work that makes software boring to run.

05 / TESTING

Your edge cases, your people, your sign-off.

We test against the exceptions that broke the old process — with the people who will actually use the system, not just the people who commissioned it.

06 / DEPLOYMENT

Into your operation, on your infrastructure terms.

Deployed behind your domain and security requirements, with sensible defaults: HTTPS everywhere, least-privilege access, no data used for anything outside your system.

07 / ONGOING SUPPORT

The relationship continues after go-live.

Systems are measured in production, issues are owned by us, and the system evolves as the operation does. Support is part of the build, not an afterthought.

QUALIFICATION

Custom is right when the fit is wrong everywhere else.

A CUSTOM BUILD MAKES SENSE WHEN

  • The problem is specific to how your business operates
  • Off-the-shelf tools forced you to change the process to fit the tool
  • A spreadsheet or inbox has quietly become critical infrastructure
  • You can point at the cost of the problem — time, errors, lost work

IT USUALLY DOESN’T WHEN

  • You want a generic website or a brochure build
  • The need is a standard tool that already exists and fits
  • You're shopping for the cheapest possible implementation
  • The problem hasn't been felt yet — it's theoretical

If an existing tool genuinely fits, we’ll say so in the first conversation. Custom is expensive — it should only exist where nothing else does the job.

Discuss a custom build

WYLAC / CUSTOM

Bring the problem. We'll bring the system.

The first output is a problem definition, not an invoice. If we're not the right build partner, the discovery conversation will tell you that too.
